Goal-Grabbing (General) Knowledge!

Hi, today I am going to be showing you my maths create for this week - to mark off a goal. This week my hub have been proving our knowledge by showing our understanding of goals by showing it face-to-face with the teacher... or doing this. My individual goal was to count forwards and backwards in 1/2s, 1/4s, 1/3s, 1/5s and 1/10s. I gathered the information by reading and watching information my teacher gave me on a slideshow.

Can you count backwards for 2 1/4?

Splitting Super-Fractions!

Hi, today I am going to be showing you the goal I had mark off and what I used for it. My goal was to use multiplication and division strategies to find fractions of whole numbers. I created I by using my prior knowledge and asking my friend to help me make the video, which he did.

3/8 of 64...?

Exciting Era of Explanations!

Hi, today I'm going to be showing you the new form of writing I am doing for this term. My goal was to organise related ideas into paragraphs and use linking words and phrases to link some paragraphs. I gathered the information by listening to my group and searching on the internet.

How To Be A Good Friend

Being a nice friend is very important in your social life. But - how do you be one?

First of all, it is very easy to be a nice friend, but even easier to get mad and angry at them. Not normally would you try and hurt your friend, but sometimes you could be in a foul mood, or your friend is being mean to you, which is usually why you would be the opposite of a good friend. Even jealousy could trigger this.

Secondly, you could be a good friend by being loyal and gaining trust. Basically, with your friends, live by the motto, “Treat others how you want to be treated,”. If you think some of your friends are a little tight, you don’t have to worry, but still be kind and caring and do all the things you would need to do to be a good friend.

Lastly, being a good friend is not just a boost for wellbeing and social life for you, but for all your friends. I mean, there is no reason to not be a good friend. It’s fun for you, your friends, and eventually more!

In conclusion, being a good friend is easy, fun, and how to be one is all written down on this doc...

Are you a good friend...?

Walsh´s Fiery Fact File!

Hi, today I am going to be showing you my work for my independent literacy this week. My goal was to create a fully updated and modified fact file translating and summarising our learning this term. I gathered the information by researching the lifestyle and achievements of this burly athlete. Also he lives in my subdivision. :-)

Tom Walsh´s Fact File

Tom Walsh is the 3rd best shot-putter in Olympic history. He lives in Prestons Park, Christchurch, New Zealand. He grew up on a farm around the exterior of Timaru. Tom Walsh has competed in every single Olympics from the 2014 Olympics in Sochi, Russia to the 2021 Olympics at Tokyo, Japan. His personal best throw was at South Canterbury Athletic Club, Doha,
and, coached by Ian Baird, threw 22.90 meters. Walsh was born on the 1st March 1992. His parents are Karen Walsh and Peter Walsh and he has a brother called Bill Walsh. He started his shot-put career in 2009 at the World Youth Championships in Athletics, where he placed sixth.

Do you have a favourite athlete?

Stopping Static Image!

Hi, today I am going to be showing you the static image (a freeze frame of a time) that I have been working on for the past few weeks. It is about stereotyping, a mental bias judging people for doing something that is supposed to be for the other gender. My goal was to use visual language features to engage the audience.

I collected the data by looking at other examples of static images and transmitting it into this google drawing.

What would you do for a static image?

Gasping Gospel Reading!

Hi, today I am going to be showing you my gospel reflection for this week. My goal was to create a DLO
(Digital Learning Object) translating my understanding of Mark 9:33-37. I gathered the information by reading my hub´s current gospel.

What is your favourite gospel?

Nobel Net Mathmatics!

Hi, today I am going to be showing you my maths create for this week. My goal was to calculate volume and capacity of a variety of simple containers using different strategies. Represent objects with drawings and models. I gathered the information by creating a folded and accurate net and cuboid of a 12 x 4 x 2 shape and record a video of me showing my understanding of volume and capacity, aside from 6 examples on how to make 96cm3.

How would you make 96cm3?
