Mega Maths: Awesome Doubling and Great Halving

Our Goal is to use the Doubling and Halving strategy to solve multiplication problems.
Here is an example: Let us say that we have  this question: 56 x 8. We could either half 56 and double 8, or the other way round. Today, I am going to double 56 and half 8, which makes our question 112 x 4. That equals 448.
I  hope you learn something from this post.
Maybe you could try making a question of your own?

Perfect Patrick's Day

Hello! Today was St Patrick's Day! My whole school had to wear green. Anyway, get ready for some St Patrick's Day facts!

For example, St Patrick was born in Great Britan, but kidnapped and brought to Ireland to work on a farm.
Eventually, he escaped and went back to his home.
Still, St Patrick wnet back and taught Ireland christany.

Next Level Numbers!

 Next Level Numbers!

Hi! I'm going to show you, in the slide, how to use tidy numbers to solve addition and subtraction problems! Here is an example: 456 + 367. Since this is an addition question you would take away from one number and add to one number. Since 367 is the closest to a tidy number, we would add 3 and it would make 370. That means you would take away 3 from 456, which would make 453! In total, the question is 370 + 453 = 823! Bye, and do you have a maths problem solving way you could share?

Ultimate Conversation!

 Ultimate Conversation!

Hello! This my week's Maori learning! I learned a whole bunch of Maori questions and words! For example, Ko wai to ingoa? It means, What's your name? You would answer, Ko _ toku ingoa? It means, My name is _. The _ is your name. See you, and, would you have a Maori question for me?

Top Secret Literacy Learning

Top Secret Literacy Learning

Our top secret learning this week was about how to create an awesome blog post.
We had to look through a lot of sites and videos to crack the code on a quality blog post and a quality comment. Since this is top secret, I can only tell you one thing about it. A blog post needs a awesome introduction that has what your thing that you are writing about on it.
Bye, for now. Could you do something top secret too?
